Italian President State Visit to China Further Boosts Bilateral Cooperation
 
On December 9, 2004, Italian President Carlo Azeglio Ciampi rounded off his six-day state visit to China. This significant visit further boosts the strategic partnership between Italy and China in an all-around way. It has not only consolidated the friendship between the people of the two nations, but also enhanced the cooperation between enterprises of both countries. Ciampi’s state visit has promoted Sino-Italian cooperation in satellite and aeronautic technologies, Olympic construction projects, cultural exchanges between higher education institutions as well as environmental protection, etc. The Italian delegates from enterprises community in President’s accompany showed keen interest in investment in energy, infrastructure, mechanical manufacturing, telecommunication, banking, tourism, etc in China.

Meeting with Chinese Leaders and Entrepreneurs

During his compactedly scheduled state visit, President Ciampi had successive talks and meetings with Chinese leaders Premier Wen Jiaobao and President Hu Jintao as well as some Chinese senior officials, including Dai Xianglong, Major of Tianjin, Wang Qishan, Major of Beijing, Yuan Chunqing, Deputy Secretary of Shanxi Province Committee, Han Zheng, Major of Shanghai and Wei Jiafu, President of China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company (COSCO).

意大利总统访华 推动中意环保合作
    意大利总统钱皮2004年12月4日至9日在中国访问。此次访问进一步推动了中意两国的全面战略伙伴关系，巩固了中意两国友谊，加强了双方企业合作。据悉，钱皮总统访华直接推进了中意两国在卫星与航天技术、奥运建设、高校文化交流、环保等领域的合作。随行的意大利企业界代表还对投资中国能源、基础设施、机械制造、电信、银行、旅游等方面表达了强烈的合作意向。

会见中国国家领导人与企业家

    钱皮总统访华期间，先后分别会见了温家宝总理、胡锦涛主席，同时也与天津市市长戴相龙、北京市市长王歧山、陕西省省委副书记袁纯清、上海市市长韩正以及中国中远集团总裁魏家福等举行了会见。

    12月5日上午，钱皮总统在意大利驻华使馆与天津市市长戴相龙等举行了会谈，就进一步推进中意友好往来与经贸合作、搞好天津的意式风情区修缮保护及2005年10月在意大利举办中国天津文化周等事宜进行了交换了意见。会见后，钱皮总统与戴相龙一起观看了在大使馆举办的“天津之路—意大利和中国的千年纽带”历史图片展。
