21st Century Forum'2005 & China-EU Forum on Sustainable Development Held in Beijing
Italian Representatives Stressed Circular Economy at the Forum 

The 21st Century Forum, themed "Sustainable Development - China and the World", opened on Sep. 5th 2005 in Beijing. The National Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) organized the three-day forum.

Chinese President Hu Jintao sent a letter to the forum, giving his regards and congratulations to representatives from different countries and regions around the world.

        2005年9月5日至7日，中国人民政治协商会议全国委员会主办的“21世纪论坛”2005年会议在北京举行。国务院总理温家宝出席开幕式并发表演讲，中共中央政治局常委、全国政协主席贾庆林担任本次“论坛”会议名誉主席，全国政协副主席王忠禹担任会议主席。来自世界30多个国家的前政要、知名人士以及9个国际组织的代表、有关专家和国内有关部门、地方负责人、专家学者、企业家代表等共1000多人出席了会议。

        作为“21世纪论坛”的一项重要活动，2005年9月5日至6日，国家科技部、中国政协外事委员会、中国科协和欧盟驻华、驻蒙古国使团在北京联合主办了“中国—欧盟可持续发展分论坛”。

Italy: Promote Circular Economy in China
In recent years, pragmatic communications and positive co-operations performed between China and Italy in some key sectors have been demonstrating more and more advantages. While presently, both countries are striving to extend a new round of cooperation on Circular Economy, which means significantly to each other.

Italian Trust Fund (ITF): Assist Legislative Studies on Chinese Circular Economy

Circular Economy, a new economic pattern for humankind to maintain sustainable development, is taken by many countries now as an important way to realize coordinated environment and economic development. However, it needs to be promoted with legal form.

中意联手推进循环经济发展

        循环经济是2005年中国经济的“关键词”，发展循环经济，构建资源循环型社会已成为中国可持续发展的重要战略。借鉴国际上发展循环经济的经验、选择适合中国国情和经济现状的循环经济发展道路是国家环保总局推进循环经济发展的重要举措之一。

        意大利是中国的重要环保合作伙伴。2005年，中意双方主要以高级研讨会、专题研究等方式展开循环经济领域的合作。据悉，意大利环境与领土部、经济合作发展组织和米兰博览会基金将于2005年10月3日在米兰联合举办循环经济高级研讨会，这是延续东京八国扩大会议上提出3R（减量化、再利用、资源化）倡议的又一重要国际性会议。会议的主要内容包括“中国循环经济理念、政策与3R战略”、“循环经济在西方国家的发展前景与存在的问题”、“意大利企业和研究机构在循环经济方面的观点”等。同时，会议中还将评估约翰内斯堡第二类合作伙伴计划在循环经济领域的发展空间。

Beijing to Hold the Conference on “Italy for Sustainable Beijing”

On October 26, 2005,Italian Ministry for the Environment and Territory (IMET) and the Beijing Municipality will sponsor a high level conference in Beijing on "Italy for Sustainable Beijing".

With the theme of “Italy for sustainable Beijing”, the event will focus on the cooperation between IMET and Beijing Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau (representing Beijing Municipality), and will display the achievement and the progress of the projects on Beijing sustainable development with the aid of IMET.

“意大利支持北京可持续发展” 主题活动即将举行

       2005年10月26日，北京市人民政府和意大利环境与领土部将在北京共同主办“意大利支持北京可持续发展”主题活动。该主题活动将全面展示意大利环境与领土部和北京市环境保护局（代表北京市人民政府）在可持续发展方面的合作成果以及项目进展情况。相关活动将包括高层研讨会、文化活动、新闻发布会以及其它一些宣传活动，活动还将邀请双方的高层领导、合作项目参与方出席参加。

       为支持北京市创造 “绿色奥运”可持续环境，2005年7月30日，双方签署了关于支持北京市履行“绿色奥运”承诺合作备忘录。根据备忘录，意大利承诺将支持北京市政府履行“绿色奥运”工作，启动已经初步确定的3个太阳能示范项目，即北京奥组委新办公楼利用太阳能供应热水、奥运村太阳能示范工程、北京市环保局办公楼太阳能光伏发电示范工程，并为奥运相关项目利用意大利环境友好技术和产品提供资助。
