1．Study Objectives
Study the impact of the South-North Water Diversion Project (East Route) to the area along the water diversion route in the aspects of environment, hydrology, soil, vegetation, geology, climate, economic and social development, regional relations as well as countermeasures and international experiences.

2．Study Contents
（1）Carry out overall investigation in the affected area (including pollution control districts) in the aspects of hydrology, geology, environment, ecology, economy and social development.

（2）Study the experience and lessons learnt from the main water diversion projects in other country’ of the world.

（3）Study water resources management system in China and the construction and management of the South-North Water Diversion Project.
