On June 12 – 14, 2019, the seventeenth China International Environmental Protection Exhibition & Conference (hereinafter referred to as CIEPEC) was held at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing.

In order to promote the Italy-China business cooperation in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development, the Italian Ministry for Environment, Land and Sea and Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China, jointly organized the Italian Pavilion at CIEPEC, hosting 18 Italian green enterprises and companies.

The Italian Pavilion exhibited advanced Italian technologies in the field of environmental monitoring and environmental remediation, as well as air, water and soil pollution prevention and control. Also, it promoted the achievements of the Sino-Italian Cooperation Program for Environmental Protection.

Dozens of Chinese green enterprises had business meetings with Italian companies at the Pavilion. Solid waste treatment, groundwater biodegradation, industrial waste water treatment, contaminated sites remediation and air quality monitoring were the main subjects of the business dialogues.

During CIEPEC, the Italian Minister for the Environment, Land and Sea Sergio Costa, the Minister for the Ministry of Ecology Environment Li Ganjie, the Ambassador of Italian Embassy Ettore Sequi had a special tour to Italian Pavilion. The Director General of the Italian Ministry for Environment, Land and Sea, Mr. Oliviero Montanaro, and Deputy Director General for the Ministry of Ecology Environment, Ms. Zhai Guiying, accompanied and visited the pavilion.

Sino-Italian Seminar on the Water Treatment
On June 14, a Sino-Italian Seminar on the Water Treatment was successfully held thanks to the joint organization of the Sino-Italian Cooperation Program on Environmental Protection (SICP) and the Foreign Environmental Cooperation Center (FECO). The seminar gave the opportunity to two Italian companies to present their water treatment technologies to Chinese authorities and companies, as well as to acknowledge the state of the art of the “Chinese river and water environment treatment” - presented by Professor Sun Dezhi of Environment College of China Forest University. The Seminar was concluded by a Q&A Session between Italian and Chinese participants.
