Italian Pavilion at IE EXPO 2019 – Shanghai, April 15-17, 2019


The Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea, in collaboration with Monaco Fiere, has promoted the collective participation of Italian companies at IE Expo, held at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Center, from 15 to 17 April 2019. The IE Expo Shanghai is one of the leading exhibitions in the field of technological solutions for environmental protection in China.  In this edition, 70,000 visitors and 2,047 exhibitors were registered in an area of over 150,000 m2.

The Italian Pavilion has been sponsored by the Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea, with the aim of promoting Italian know-how and technologies on the Chinese market and facilitating communication between Italian and Chinese companies for the development of business opportunities. The Pavilion hosted over 30 Italian companies and green technologies in the field of Environmental Protection.

In this edition, the initiative provided also for the organization of B2B matchmaking meetings with the involvement of 58 Chinese companies who met the Italian ones at their respective booths. This also allowed for technology sharing sessions in the roadshow area of the Italian pavilion.

Mr. Xiao Guiyu and Ms. Gao Xiaomei, Deputy Directors of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress, Mr. Cui Minghua, Member of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress, Mr. Shou Ziqi, Director of General of Shanghai Ecology and Environment Bureau and Ms. Guo Fang, Deputy Director of Shanghai Ecology and Environment Bureau, visited Italian Pavilion and expressed their appreciation for the Italian technologies and their possible application into the Chinese market.

On June 17, a Sino-Italian Seminar on the VOCs Technologies was successfully held thanks to the joint organization of the Sino-Italian Cooperation Program on Environmental Protection (SICP), the Shanghai Ecology and Environment Bureau (Shanghai BEE) and the Shanghai Environmental Protection Industry Association (Shanghai EPIA). The seminar gave the opportunity to two Italian companies to present their VOC technologies to Chinese authorities and companies, as well as to learn the latest updates on the “Air Action Plan 2018-2020”– presented by a civil servant of Shanghai BEE. The Seminar was concluded by a Q&A Session between Italian and Chinese participants.
